New Idea Engineering to exhibit at KMWorld 2004
New Idea Engineering will be returning to KM World 2004 this year to demonstrate SearchTrack, SearchCheck, and other products and services to make it easier for you to manage your enterprise search operations.
adaptive path produces search report
Jeffrey Veen, founder of adaptive path has written a white paper titled "8 Quick Ways to Fix Your Search Engine". The paper is summarized on their site at http://adaptivepath.com/publications/essays/archives/000341.php.
Compare Jeffrey's recommendations to Mark Bennett's 10 Tips for Better Search Results in the March issue of Enterprise Search. It's good to see that great minds think alike!
Desktop Search in Outlook
A few months ago I started using a very cool desktop search tool called Lookout. Lookout, based on the open-source Lucene search engine, is a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook that lets you index both your Outlook content and your file system content. It seems to understand most file formats, and it's awfully nice to use the same interface when you want to find something you just know is on your system.. but you're not sure whether it's in Outlook or on your hard disk.

Since I started using the product, Lookout was acquired by Microsoft. They continue to do business at http://www.lookout.com/Lookout but who knows for how long. Get it today!
