News from Google While most people don't think of Google as a enterprise search engine, the improvements they make every week to the web search will eventually find their way into our enterprise search. Last week, Google announced a whole new range of searches from telephone area codes to airline flight tracking, with handy package tracking, UIC code, and vehicle ID search thrown in for good measure. Check Learn more at http://www.google.com/help/features.html Verity on the Road Verity has announced a two day road show in the guise of user group meetings in several major cities around the country. The first of these events., open to Verity customers, is in New York on March 16, and the tour ends up in San Francisco on April 21. The first day looks to be heavy on recent acquisitions, but with afternoon sessions specific to Ultraseek and K2 new releases. And expect several customer testimonals. Still these are generally worthwhile to meet with other customers and talk shop. In at least some cities, Verity will hold half-day taxonomy sessions the day after the user group meetings. Apparently only registered customers or partners are able to attend; the information page suggests you contact your sales representative, although you can also register directly from your Verity support login at http://customers.verity.com.
